You may be wondering what Chalet Löm has in store for you. And who’s waiting for you there. We think the best way to experience this is for you to see for yourself on your first morning as our guest.
You open the balcony door or the window and watch as the first light glides over the jagged peaks of the Dolomites. It washes the night away from the meadows and trees of Val Badia/Gadertal, without any hurry at all. Or you could retreat to the Enrosadira Loge. And watch as the sun paints the mountains in 50 shades of pink.

Why do we do what we do, you ask? It’s our wish to share this extraordinary corner of the world with you. Chalet Löm, our accommodation in San Vigilio, is nestled in the tranquillity of the Dolomites, surrounded by nature. At the same time, life in the valley remains close enough that you never feel as though you’re at the end of the world here.
We have furnished every room with careful attention to detail. High-quality materials, warm wood, and masterful craftsmanship all contribute to this sense of cosiness. And life at the Fodom Farm teaches us anew every day how to love the world: with a warm wood floor beneath our bare feet, the scent of fresh bread, and the silence that envelops you like a soft blanket. We’ve created this place so that you can just be yourself.

Hens, sheep, goats, and Highland cattle
Our animals are simply part of the family. In summer, the hens peck nimbly at the clover along the paths, whilst the goats push their heads attentively through the fence as soon as they hear footsteps approaching. Up on the pasture stand the Highland cattle, stoic and utterly calm, even as the snow falls on their backs.
We go out in the mornings and evenings to check on them. If you’d like to join us, please let us know. We welcome anyone who’s interested in coming along to watch us at work. For children, the walk back to the chalet is often the best part of the day: they hold the fresh egg very gently in both hands. Do you remember how lovely it is when the tiniest moments become so special?
Our teas, jams, and syrups
In our kitchen, we use the produce that nature provides right on our doorstep. We pick the mountain herbs for our teas on the slopes around the house, when the midday sun brings out their fragrance most strongly. We dry and blend them carefully by hand.
Our jams, juices, and freshly baked cakes capture the colours of the day and the warmth of the sun. If there’s anything we’re missing on the farm, we get it from neighbours whose work we value. And if there’s a particular flavour you’re particularly fond of, we’ll be happy to get some “holiday sunshine” for you to take home.
